Job Summary

General Atomics Integrated Intelligence, Inc. (GA-i3), an affiliate of General Atomics, maintains and deploys production systems for users across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and commercial industry. We build and develop best-in-class all domain and globally focused situational awareness capabilities, including THRESHER and DRAGONSPELL, that process petabytes of data from numerous streaming data sources in near real time. Our systems apply state-of-the-art algorithms and machine learning techniques to extract features and fuse data from multiple phenomenologies to form a rich live view of objects in the sky, on the sea, and on the ground. Our rapidly growing suite of federal software solutions are used by thousands of intelligence analysts and military personnel around the globe to counter new and emerging threats to national security.
GA-i3 is looking for a research scientist to aid in the planning, execution, and delivery of tracking solutions for challenging emergent problems. Work with other researchers and developers to drive the development of advanced probabilistic tracking solutions to empower real-time situational awareness. Solve challenging scaling problems for large volumes of data and distributed processing. Influence our growing teams and shape the future of tracking and intelligence integration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement scalable and scientifically rigorous solutions for novel tracking problems.
    • Design solutions based on best-practice state estimation (e.g. IMMs) and data association (e.g. JVC/Hungarian algorithms) techniques.
    • Write and review high-performance code for tracking applications, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.
    • Support deployment of tracking systems, ensuring adherence to software compliance standards.
    • Rigorously evaluate system accuracy and performance.
    • Document technical concepts, system architectures, and implementation details in a clear and concise manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate across functions, such as data science, software engineering, and product management, to integrate tracking systems with broader organizational efforts.
    • Collaborate with product leadership, domain experts, users, development teams, and management to prioritize features.
    • Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical concepts and requirements.
  • Influence the overall vision and goals of the tracking engineering practice within the organization.
    • Develop long-term strategies and initiatives to enhance tracking capabilities against a range of products.
    • Stay informed of industry trends and advancements to keep the organization at the forefront of tracking innovations.
We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
