SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Programs & Services is responsible for providing strategic planning and oversight of a large program/service portfolio including accountability for multiple government-funded contracts, leadership of a management/supervisory team, and achievement of outcomes and client satisfaction for their area. The Senior Director provides strategic insights to leadership meetings/discussions, acts as a role model for OneAchev Culture, engages staff, maintains and builds strong community relationships, and assists in new business development. This role also supports company-wide and area-specific initiatives as assigned.

SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Programs & Services is responsible for providing strategic planning and oversight of a large program/service portfolio including accountability for multiple government-funded contracts, leadership of a management/supervisory team, and achievement of outcomes and client satisfaction for their area. The Senior Director provides strategic insights to leadership meetings/discussions, acts as a role model for OneAchev Culture, engages staff, maintains and builds strong community relationships, and assists in new business development. This role also supports company-wide and area-specific initiatives as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champions the Achev vision, mission and goals including the OneAchev Culture, OneTeam collaboration, and OneClient approach
- Develops annual strategic plans for their area and reports on progress, opportunities, and recommendations for further consideration
- Identifies program and company-wide risk and proposes prevention and mitigation solutions
- Contributes to organization-wide operational and human resource planning, communication, and initiatives to address efficiencies
- Develops and reviews project and service plans with management teams and staff
- Develops and monitors key performance indicators, and manages program development
- Provides direction to and supervises management team and other staff, as assigned
- Oversees the process of recruitment, selection, relocation, staffing operations, performance appraisal, and staff development in their area
- Promotes effective team building and implements employee engagement activities
- Leads teams in adopting new tools, technologies and processes for enhanced service, security, and efficiency
- Chairs, facilitates and/or makes presentations for a variety of F2F and online meetings
- Liaises with government funders regarding contracts, operations and potential new initiatives including negotiating activities and funding
- Ensures compliance with company policies and funder requirements
- Collaborates with senior leadership to develop new partnerships and relationships to enhance client service and build new business
- Analyzes statistical reports, identifies client and community needs, and proposes service changes and new project ideas
- Initiates and/or supports new concepts/proposals/services driving business growth and overseeing negotiations, program set up and hiring as needed
- Oversees the management of budgets, cash flow forecast, review of claims, and use of slippage according to company and government requirements
- Prepares quarterly management discussion & analysis (MD&A) reports for senior leadership review
- Oversees the preparation and submission of narrative and annual funder and company reports and ensures accurate statistical report in funder- and company-approved portals
- Oversees service area promotion, outreach and marketing, and client referral in conjunction with the marketing department and OneAchev initiatives
- Manages escalated challenges/issues with diplomacy and authority, escalating further if needed
- Represents Achev and Sr. Vice President upon request at community events, relationship building meetings, and presentations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post secondary degree in education, social services, business or other relevant area
- Further education/experience in business or non-profit management is strongly preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of senior-level management experience in education and/or not-for-profit is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensititivity
- Demonstrated strength in motivating, coaching, supporting and recognizing individuals and teams
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and resolve challenges
- Demonstrated capacity to develop, implement and manage large, complex budgets
- Ability to work effectively with funders and community partners and demonstrate leadership in conducting meetings
- Computer proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Office, funder portals, databases and ability to learn new technology and use new tools and support implementation
- Familiarity and experience with business and service models, tools and resources
- Adaptability, and capacity to initiate, support and drive innovation and change
- Drivers' license and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility in travel and hours of work is required
- A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check is required
