We are seeking a Safety Education and Field Manager to lead safety efforts across our Self-Perform Units in Plumbing/Mechanical, Building Trades Group (BTG), and Electrical.
Position Overview:
The Safety Education and Field Manager will oversee safety compliance, coordinate safety training, and manage safety documentation for all Self-Perform Units. This role ensures safety programs are aligned with RQ's goals while promoting a culture of safety excellence. You will work closely with project teams, safety officers, and the Regional Senior Safety Manager to proactively address safety needs across projects. This position will cover the Southeast Region of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee safety compliance for all Self-Perform Units (Plumbing/Mechanical, BTG, Electrical).
- Facilitate safety onboarding and training for new hires, and maintain safety records.
- Coordinate and conduct classroom and practical safety training for new and existing employees.
- Collaborate with project SSHOs to submit required safety documentation for government approval.
- Manage safety supply chain and support safety efforts across Self-Perform projects.
- Work with the Senior Safety Manager to identify and address safety support needs, ensuring alignment with trends and strategic goals.
- Foster a safety-first culture to reduce costs, improve quality, and support RQ's values.
Qualifications:
- Combination of relevant work experience, training, and certifications (OSHA, BCSP certifications like CSP, CHST, OHST, ASP, etc.) in Occupational Safety and Health.
- 5+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry, including at least 5 years in construction safety management at the jobsite level, ideally in a trade-specific environment (e.g., mechanical, electrical, concrete).
- Competent person training or experience in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical, Trenching/Excavation, PPE, and Scaffolding.
- Previous experience as a tradesperson (e.g., plumber, carpenter, electrician) is preferred.
- Familiarity with NAVFAC, USACE, and EM 385-1-1 standards is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other software (Hammertech, Power BI, Adobe Build) is preferred.
- Current CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30-hour, and EM 385-1-1 40-hour certifications, and OSHA 500 Instructor certification required.
