SUMMARY:

• Provide engineering program and support to superintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, workmanship and assures results meet design requirements. If designated, leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline or a particular area of the site.
• Manage and coordinate with field engineering staff daily to resolve problems and support project management needs. Manage and support turnover activities. Represent construction at project and site-related committee meetings. Review national codes/standards and site specifications and procedures.
• Administration and approval of performance evaluations, ranking, career development and training of field engineers. Provide design agencies with construction technical input for design development.
• Monitor compliance of EPA and South Carolina Waste Management regulations and site-specific procedures. Monitor contractors' activities and work performance and resolve their concerns through coordination with other SRNS departments. Review and manage the implementation of project design and maintenance activities using existing specifications, national codes and standards, drawings and the latest construction techniques.
• Interface and coordinate all aspects of construction with design, procurement, security, safety, operations, health physics, quality control, scheduling cost management and supervise the daily field engineering activities. Maintain continuity with quality control to ensure work quality meets the required standards.
• Coordinate with design agencies to ensure timely issuance of new designs or design changes. Perform constructability inspections and provide technical expertise for construction methods and practices. Responsible for ensuring that construction work is done correctly and completely.
