The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) director leads the FP&A team for the Biosciences Division (>$4B in revenue) and is a high-impact and visible role that directly affects executive-level decision-making, execution of strategy and contribution to the Division's financial objectives achievement
The leader will be responsible for driving world-class planning, forecasting, and insights for the Division working closely with senior leaders in both Finance and the Business. The right candidate will demonstrate deep financial insights and the ability "to look around the corner", provide solutions to issues, evolve our process and automation excellence, establish new methodologies for planning and forecasting and establish a systematic view of metrics relevant to the business.

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $160,100.00-$240,125.00.

The leader will be responsible for driving world-class planning, forecasting, and insights for the Division working closely with senior leaders in both Finance and the Business. The right candidate will demonstrate deep financial insights and the ability "to look around the corner", provide solutions to issues, evolve our process and automation excellence, establish new methodologies for planning and forecasting and establish a systematic view of metrics relevant to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead team to develop robust and scalable short and long term financial models for the Division
- Drive the monthly close, forecast process and business reviews
- Drive the annual AOP and STRAP processes (calendar, modeling, communication, consolidation) for the Division in close coordination with the Business Unit and Functional Teams
- Responsible for all BID division level reporting commitments, including, but not limited to, financial reviews, flash reports, outlooks, QBR, ad hoc reports.
- Identify, monitor, and articulate key operating metrics, business risks (e.g., FX volatility), and opportunities associated with the plan and outlooks to the leadership team
- Lead the development of next generation analytics to provide key insights to the business to drive actionable opportunities for growth
- Drive development of next generation processes and automation excellence to elevate capabilities and drive productivity
- Lead, mentor, and develop an impactful team
- Support division level initiatives, special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis
- Liaise with Group FP&A, Corporate and Systems teams
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of meaningful experience in a finance role with hands-on experience in providing financial analysis to drive key business decisions within the context of a matrix organization and/or corporate environment
- Strong passion for developing team and driving culture and engagement efforts
- Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to establish credibility and indirectly influence others, building effective partnerships throughout the organization (e.g., internal customers, senior leadership)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear, concise, accurate manner
- Desire to formulate and drive operational improvements
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Foresight to anticipate implications of decisions (i.e., ability to proactively address problems)
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related experience with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. CMA/CFA is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $160,100.00-$240,125.00.
