The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

In an inpatient setting, supports standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care. Supports activities at the service, nursing practice, and institutional level, and contributes to goal achievement through personal action and the facilitation of others. They participate in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to the promotion of nursing's visibility and future. Provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service. They also participate in the management of human resources, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and the monitoring of patient outcomes. May have responsibilities at the unit, program or service level and may assume an expanded role as assigned by leadership

Full time position (40 hours) D/E/N-on call responsibilities, Holidays and weekends per unit policy

The Assistant Nurse Manager will provide direct support to the Nurse Manager at St. Johns Long Term Care Unit. This leader will work in partnership with the Nurse Manager to open a brand-new, newly renovated unit for the alternate level of care (ALC) patients within our hospital system. The Assistant Nurse Manger will take on a pivotal role that includes a combination of direct clinical support, as well as administrative tasks such as onboarding, education, staffing coordination, and ensuring quality care is delivered to our patients. This individual will also work to further develop relationships with the St Johns team to ensure policies, education, and regulatory guidelines are mastered and communicated to the nursing team on this unit. This individual must have leadership experience and nursing education experience preferred. The candidate must be flexible, possess excellent communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
