This role is located near any major city on the West Coast of United States.
The Technical Solutions Consultant is responsible for engaging with customers to understand their technical and business needs, specifying tailored solutions, and collaborating with internal business units to drive product innovation and market expansion. This role requires deep market knowledge and an understanding of industry trends to position the company's dry-type transformers and power quality and conversion solutions effectively. This role is responsible for aggressively developing, supporting and growing HPS vertical initiatives in existing and emerging markets with a focus on driving specification, awareness, and product expansion. This includes understanding market segment application needs, relative merits of new product offerings with these markets, and providing key product specification as needed in these markets. The person in this role works collaboratively with Sales team members, Marketing, Engineering, and HPS functional groups to achieve objectives related to specification, sales, profitability and the company's over-all strategic goals.

Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement and Solutions Specification:
- Develop strong relationships with customers, understanding their technical and business requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and consultative selling to propose the best-fit solutions from the company's product portfolio.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training for customers, distributors, and sales teams.
- Support the sales team in developing proposals and responding to technical inquiries.
- Business Unit Collaboration on new products and segments:
- Work closely with engineering, product management, and R&D teams to influence new product development based on customer feedback and emerging market needs.
- Identify new application segments and provide input on go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize product specifications and ensure alignment with industry requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align business strategies with technical solutions.
- Market Knowledge and Industry trends
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and technological advancements in transformers, power quality, and power conversion solutions.
- Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and competitive positioning.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences to network and gather insights.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations on market trends and customer needs to internal stakeholders.
- Product Launch and Promotion
- Support launch activities with territory sales resources and Marketing by:
- Ensuring market success through measured market tactics
- Supporting Sales and Channel through pre and post-launch activities
- Support various internal and external product/application training
Do you qualify? We are seeking:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or business development within the electrical industry, preferably in transformers, power quality, or power conversion solutions.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and industrial applications.
- Proven ability to engage with customers, understand technical requirements, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives forward.
