Description

Verily's Workbench provides a secure collaborative environment for data generators, research, and biopharma organizations to govern and analyze their data. The project incorporates technology and best practices developed through years of building data infrastructure for large research initiatives such as the National Institutes of Health's All of Us Research Program, the Accelerating Medicines Partnership Parkinson's disease (AMP PD) program, and the Project Baseline Health Study.

Responsibilities
  • As a Software Engineer for Workbench, you'll directly contribute to scientific discovery through the design and development of our research platform.
  • Work as part of an agile squad on the iterative development of our various systems and UIs, including but not limited to our application platform, support for scientific workflow engines, cloud management, and data security services.
  • Develop using industry standard tools such as Go, Java, React, Docker and Terraform.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
  • 2+ years of experience with a general programming language such as Java, Go, C++ or Python.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with our primary languages: Java, Go and Typescript.
  • Experience with React, or a similar frontend framework.
  • Expertise in building software on GCP or AWS.
  • Proficiency with version control tools such as Git and GitHub.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub actions, Gitlab CI, Jenkins, or Circle.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000 - $150,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
