DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare revenue billing, revenue recognition, and related transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met, and financial statements are prepared accurately.
  • Analyze financial data and report on key performance metrics to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as operations, sales, and finance) to provide insights on financial performance and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as needed, including process improvements and system enhancements.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Experience with capital contributions, job costing, and financial topics in a growing company environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, CostPoint); experience with CostPoint is a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) knowledge preferred


Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail in financial data and reporting
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively and efficiently
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey financial information to team members and management
  • Excellent time management skills, particularly during month-end close and other critical deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
  • Strong analytical thinking to assess financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and to mentor junior staff


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position


Physical Requirements
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
