R&D Software Engineering Leader for EMR & Care Management/Connected Care (Cambridge, MA)
The R&D Software Engineering Leader for EMR & Care Management will formulate the long-term technical vision for their portfolio of products. This leader will be responsible for coordinating with the product architecture team to advance technologies and reduce technical debt. They will drive adoption of reusable components to reduce development time and improve time to market while ensuring their team builds deep domain technical knowledge to stay competitive in the healthcare marketplace.

The pay range for this position in (Cambridge, MA) is $191,520 to $306,432
At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. Your role:
- Lead PI events to develop deep domain technical knowledge and advance product capabilities to maintain competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Lead teams in delivering both run (maintenance/service fixes) and growth (product capabilities) initiatives, planning effectively based on data and trends.
- Ensure predictability in product delivery and align time to market with business needs.
- Serve as a member of the R&D Leadership Team, collaborating to define objectives, policies, processes, and budgets, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational goals.
- Provide direct leadership in the development and growth of teams, championing a culture of continuous improvement, software quality, and Agile and DevOps best practices.
You're the right fit if:
- Product Architecture and technical expertise in EMR and Care Management.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.). Advanced degree preferred.
- You've acquired 10+ years of relevant leadership and technical experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in software development within the health technology industry.
- You're a strong leader with a proven ability to drive business impact, continuously improve software quality, build high-performing teams, and develop talent.
- Your skills include:
- Leading PI events and Agile development practices.
- Software development and architecture within healthcare technology.
- Reducing technical debt and adopting reusable components.
- Driving efficiency through automation of quality documentation and DevOps.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
