1114 - Mechanical Engineer

Monte Sano Research Corporation (MSRC) is a Huntsville-based Small Business specializing in providing full-spectrum defense system engineering, research, design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and planning services to the U.S. Government.

MSRC is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer. The candidate will perform the following:

• Regularly update senior management and stakeholders on project progress.
• Proficient with surround view camera system (SVC), warfighter machine interface (WMI),
• Proficient with hardware and software for safety relay box (SRB) containing safety force guided relays and Banner systems safety PLC controller
• Proficient at operating and maneuvering robotic vehicles via tethered, waypoint, convoy and tele-op modes.
• Have developed safety speed monitor controller (SMD) and Panel (MP) to integrate existing dash harness, new diagnostic connectors, system indicators, with mode and power switches on robotic vehicles
• Have developed hardware and software for safety relay box (SRB) containing safety force guided relays and Banner systems safety PLC controller
• Integrated standardized MIL connectors and MIL switches for ease of maintenance behind panel on interior of vehicle.

Education:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Engineering

Required Skills:

• 4 - 7 Years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
• Proven leadership and project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven to achieve high-quality results.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Identifying risks and/or gaps in existing technology / documentation / products / processes and proposing solutions to resolve issues.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience handling energetic materials; certifications or the ability to obtain ordnance certifications are a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain an active security clearance.
• Must qualify and maintain certifications for Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) hands-on work, including AvMC A&E Handler certification.
