Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Beneficial Ownership Program. The Senior Compliance Officer will work closely with the Senior Manager, and a diverse set of stakeholders to provide ongoing support of the Program in line with Global Compliance's strategy and initiatives.
Accountabilities
The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Manager, Beneficial Ownership Program and a diverse set of stakeholders to provide ongoing support of the Beneficial Ownership Program in line with Global Compliance's strategy and initiatives.
Support the execution of various components of the Beneficial Ownership Program, which includes the following:
- Review, and monitor the beneficial ownership positions across the Bank, and perform any regulatory filings as required, including under SEC 13DG and Section 16. In addition, implement additional reviews and controls for any material positions with heightened scrutiny or sensitivity.
- Work with the Senior Manager to draft and submit regulatory filings in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring escalation and awareness of security positions and data concerns as required.
- Maintain internal documentation and procedures, to support the effectiveness of the Beneficial Ownership Program delivery and reflect changes in regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of the monitoring and reporting program, including value-add recommendations around monitoring content and alignment to revised reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager, to develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators for the reporting program, including the processes to obtain the required data for such metrics.
- Assist with logging, tracking, and following up on regulatory Compliance events and issues in a timely manner.
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Global Compliance, regulators and GBM&T business leaders to support the achievement of initiative deliverables and overall objectives.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
Education/Experience
- Post-Secondary education and/or professional designations.
- Institutional, corporate banking, treasury, capital markets, compliance, regulatory or audit experience.
- Experience designing and developing reports using Excel, VBA and Power BI to achieve automation and data visualization (would be an asset).
- Self-motivated; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required.
- Highly organized and capable of dealing with multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment.
- Sound judgment in identifying risks to proactively escalate with relevant senior management.
