Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Technical Services Manager (Volvo) to join our team. The Technical Services Manager (Volvo) is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
- Direct reports include future Volvo application engineers, with dotted line responsibility for quality engineers, inspectors and the KMO assigned engineer.
- Manage all Technical requirements for our key customer
- Work directly with the assigned quality manager and quality engineer to resolve IRs & quality issues.
- Work with sourcing and suppliers to implement new designs, design changes, and supplier qualifications specifically for the assigned customer
- Manage engineering services for the customer including but not limited to cost savings projects including VA/VE and resourcing, training, consolidation and standardization, etc.
- Support branches and sales with technical consulting, print reviews, quotation assistance etc.
- Work with the customer product development group and the ST NPD/PMC group to initiate, develop and implement new part sales opportunities.
- Work with materials to help avoid line-down issues and submit deviations to support these efforts.
- Assist the quality manager and/or quality engineers with PPAP issues and the PPCN process.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university (BSME preferred)
- 10 years' work experience in engineering or related role.
- Knowledge of metallurgy and engineering principles
- Understanding of geometric tolerancing
- Understanding of PPAP processes and documentation requirements
- Understanding of 8D and other problem-solving techniques
