Job description

Safran Oxygen Systems Program Managers are the primary points of contact for assigned customers for all non-commercial issues.
The Program Manager is responsible for managing his/her customers for the full programs life cycle. Leads both new product development efforts as well as sustaining programs. A strong leadership and cross-functional approach is a key to being successful in this role as well as proven experience in managing military and government programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1) Before contract award:
Provide inputs to the organization to ensure the best sales strategy.
Provide all relevant inputs to the organization and work closely with Sales to ensure a harmonized customer approach and sales strategy
Coordinate with sales, engineering, and operations organizations to ensure business case inputs are realistic and accurate.
Maintain appropriate contact with the relevant customer program and technical organizations.
Support the customer in the definition and selection of the optimal component or system.
Manage internally and externally the technical proposal.

2) After contract award and until aircraft/product certification:
Responsible to lead assigned program activity within the organization. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Creation and maintenance of program scope document.
o Program level planning and resource management needed to meet customer milestones.
o Work closely with all company functions to ensure the solution meets all customer requirement and determine the path of action in resolving issues
o Ensure the adherence to the organizational processes and the use of the established tools
o Manage and control recurring and nonrecurring program costs and Overall business case.
o Manage and mitigate Program level risks

3) After certification:
Manage sustaining programs in accordance with Safran procedures
Ensure a smooth entry into service for the customer and the organization.
Maintain close contact to the customer to resolve/avoid upcoming issues.
Be the point of contact between the customer and the organization for any noncommercial questions.
Manage government properties.

Candidate skills & requirements

Qualifications:

Education -
Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering field.
Preferred: MBA or equivalent
Preferred: PMI certification or equivalent

Experience -
Required: 7-10+ years of project or program management experience in a technology field.
Required: Experience successfully leading large and international aerospace programs.
Preferred: Experience in Military and government aerospace activities and Business development.

Special Knowledge/Skills -
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables to execution with high autonomy
Strong business analysis skills.
Ability to provide program leadership, coordination, guidance and issue resolution.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
15 - 20% travel

$110,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
