Amazon Corporate Security Devices & Services Physical Security (DSPS) is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, corporate security leader who embodies Amazon's Leadership Principles, in particular, Customer Obsession, Ownership, Earn Trust, and Bias for Action, to join the team as a Regional Kuiper Security Manager. The Regional Kuiper Security Manager will lead and manage physical security policy and intellectual property (IP) protection best practice implementation for the Amazon Project Kuiper team. Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This position is responsible for protecting Kuiper IP by ensuring Kuiper material, development spaces, manufacturing locations, launch facilities and prototype devices are developed, handled, moved and stored in accordance with approved regulations, policies, standards, and procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring that these processes are up-to-date and align with corporate, business and government security requirements. The role involves working closely with broader ACS security managers globally, Kuiper Security partners, the physical security design team, and other teams involved in the management of Kuiper material/device tracking, spaces management, moves, logistics, compliance, and destruction.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. This position will report to the Global Sr. Manager for DSPS within Amazon Corporate Security.

Key job responsibilities
Lead and support the deployment of a comprehensive physical security plan to protect Kuiper IP across the globe
Assist in the design, development, and implementation of physical security operations for all Kuiper spaces including security design reviews, post-occupancy projects, partnership with ACS Guard Force, logistics processes, standards, policies, and procedures
Provide thorough and detailed daily support to Kuiper site related issues such as security design trouble tickets, secure storage needs, moves, access control modifications
Partner with cross functional security peers to develop and implement appropriate policies to meet the needs of the Kuiper business teams
Work closely with ACS Regional and Area Security Managers to understand security issues at the site level and promptly escalate any impact to the Kuiper Security program team
Work cross functionally with peers in Legal, Hardware, Supply Chain Ops, Trade & Compliance, EHS, Kuiper business, and Security to establish scalable physical security standards.
Actively evaluate, analyze, and use metrics collected to proactively inform programmatic needs and policy decisions
Proactively audit and identify security gaps at Kuiper locations
Manage audit action items to close, working under tight duration guidelines
Maintain close coordination, planning, and communication with internal and external stakeholders around all aspects of the Kuiper product life cycle (idea inception through finished market product)
Support Kuiper launch activities globally ensuring physical security for Kuiper assets in partnership with local and federal government officials, as well as launch partners
Respond to crisis, emergency and/or disaster recovery issues that have impact on Kuiper prototype development
Dive deep into US Government requirements to help ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR and NIST standards
Continually foster strong cross-functional relationships to drive business engagement and execution of security objectives and goals, serving as an internal champion for DSPS, device secrecy, and compliance with policies
Be the trusted security advisor and subject matter expert in the assigned area of responsibility, through high quality communication and excellent briefing skills
Implement and improve security plans, policies, and programs
Respond to customer security concerns
Earn trust through key customer and stakeholder engagements, and liaison with external partners
Communicate accurately and in a timely manner with stakeholders at the tactical and strategic level
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for several hours a day, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement, Business Management, Accounting, International Relations or equivalent professional experiences
Minimum 7 years' experience in a security related field in a global corporate environment or large-sized organization (e.g. NGO, public sector, police, or military)
Writing, reviewing, and publishing security standards and standard operating procedures
Ability to work in an in-office environment with a required physical presence in the office in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Business Management or equivalent, relevant certification, or experience
Experience operationalizing policies and best practices for areas such as Intellectual Property security, and security controls or risk management frameworks
Experienced in corporate security for a global/large company
Demonstrated understanding of best practices in physical security strategies, principles, standards, policies and procedures
Understanding of crisis operations, risk management, and crisis communication best practices
Corporate experience in IP Protection, supply chain security, privacy protection, and field test engineering
Working knowledge of legal contracts, budgeting, and key terms
Substantive experience in physical security and technology
Experience writing and publishing security standards and policies
Skilled in developing metrics and in conducting security-related trend analysis
Experience in conducting basic investigations / fact finding
Working knowledge of Lenel access control systems
CPP, PSP, CISM or similar certification preferred
Skilled in the management and use of SharePoint, Tableau, Asana, Smartsheet, or other collaboration and work management software

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
