About the Job

The GCI Senior Scientist for molecular assays ensure high-quality, consistent, and compliant data generation, providing guidance and expertise to a team responsible for developing, validating, and implementing molecular methods such as NGS and PCR. Responsibilities include scientific oversight and data generation and integrity, supporting experimental studies, and contributing to method development, validation, and stability assessments. Serves as a key resource for molecular biology knowledge and expertise for junior scientists and laboratory personnel, providing guidance in areas such as GCI documentation, quality processes, and assay qualification.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effectively supervise and train lab personnel to perform assigned tasks while ensuring applicable compliance and regulatory agency standards are met.
  • May lead team members, collaborate on scientific teams, and evaluate technologies to continually improve laboratory methods.
  • The Senior Scientist will be instrumental in fostering a high standard of laboratory operations and scientific rigor.


About You

Requirements

Education/experience

  • Specialized degree in biological sciences from an accredited University
  • B.Sc. + 8 yr experience
  • M.Sc. + 5yr experience
  • PhD + 1yr experience
  • Recognized expert in state-of-the-art molecular techniques such as dPCR, qRT-PCR, arrays specifically next generation sequencing techniques including scRNAseq/CITEseq, whole transcriptome profiling with RNAseq, amplicon sequencing, whole genome sequencing and experience with automated data analysis pipelines for different sequencing methods.
  • The qualification/validation of such assays as well as their downstream analyses and reporting.
  • Keep up to date with technological advances in sequencing and introduce new technologies to molecular portfolio as corporate needs.
  • Troubleshooting experience in molecular methodologies and expertise in primer-probe and artificial oligonucleotide design.
  • Experience working in GXP compliant environment.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand and mitigate risk associated with molecular development and compliance.
  • Ability to interact with people of differing cultural backgrounds and skills to achieve scientific and operational excellence
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to scientific excellence and innovation
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to ensure completion of targets and foster respect in the workplace
  • Mentor and develop team members as needed.
  • Clear communicator (written and verbal)

Functional/Technical Skills
  • Understanding of GXP practices and procedures required.
  • Extensive experience in different PCR and NGS technologies.
  • Experience in automation is desirable
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics is desirable
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Excellent technical skills, analytical ability, judgment with a strong operational focus.
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, scientific and communications skills (written/oral).

The salary range for this position is:
$100,500.00 - $145,166.66

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
