In this position...
Engine Performance Development (EPD) is responsible for development and verification of engine attributes related to combustion, mechanical function, and durability. In this department we use engine dynamometers to test and validate these attributes. Our work includes optimization of engine control settings to improve fuel economy and performance, validating the engines durability by performing cycle-based testing, and establishing advertised power and torque for regulatory agencies and marketing. This is a hands-on job that allows individuals to work directly with engine hardware.
We are seeking a section supervisor to lead a team of engineers to help us develop and refine our engines current and future. This is an opportunity to shape the future of ICE engines

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Set objecteves / goals for the section - Monitor and report on team members performance to those objectives
- Provide leadership and technical direction to a team of engineers charged with validation of engine design
- Work with cross functional groups to design and execute test plans to validate engine attributes
- Train new engineers in best practices of dynamometer development and durability testing
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with VEV, Powerpack teams, CAE, Engine Calibration, and Controls
- Represent IPTSE on corporate committees, technical exchanges, and external societies (SAE, etc.)
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with some emphasis to internal combustion engines or thermal sciences
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in engine design or engine calibration development
- Demonstrated experience with advanced engine technology
- Demonstrated cross functional teamwork and collaboration with interfacing activities
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills to present to present technical information in a clear and concise manner
Even better, you may have...
- Masters degree in engineering or computer science
- Experience in engine testing, combustion data analysis, and engine controls calibration
- Working knowledge of engine data acquisition and processing tools, (ATI, CAS, Indicom, Concerto, etc.)
- Knowledge of engine instrumentation methods
