Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Legal Officer, the Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing HR initiatives for Palladyne AI. This position requires a candidate with a proven track record to provide strategic and functional HR guidance to senior leaders and affect the growth and evolution of our business. The Human Resources Manager will have a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Function as a strategic business partner, understanding business needs and addressing challenges and opportunities.
- Oversee employment lifecycle including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, training and development, engagement programming, and offboarding.
- Advise leadership on federal and local regulatory and compliance requirements.
- In collaboration with the Legal department, develop and implement HR policies.
- Advise, structure, and implement compensation plans.
- Administer 401k plan, ensure timely enrollment, changes, and payroll processes; participate in the 401k Plan Committee.
- Administer other company benefit plans and work closely with the companys outside benefits broker.
- Manage personnel files and maintain the companys HRIS.
- HR reporting (ad hoc requests, EEO-1, core HR reports).
Qualifications
- 6-8 years of HR or relevant business experience, with at least 4 years of experience leading high-performing HR teams within a high-growth environment.
- SHRM certification or equivalent.
- Significant experience in key HR areas (Organizational Design, Workforce Planning, D&I, Employee Experience, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Compliance, Employee Relations).
- Strong businessacumen with excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, supported by critical, creative, and analytical thinking for complex challenges.
- Exceptional project management skills, including attention to detail, multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
- Proven leadership and team-building abilities, fostering development and a positive workplace.
- Adaptable, flexible, and able to handle new responsibilities while maintaining high standards.
- Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience working with Microsoft Outlook and 365 applications.
- Familiarity with HR and benefits systems such as Paylocity, Netsuite, Employee Navigator, New York Life, and Empower.
You must be passionate about leveraging your expertise to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse engineering and professional backgrounds. Your role will involve facilitating teamwork, supporting talent development, and fostering a positive workplace culture to help rapidly develop and bring to market innovative AI/ML software for autonomous robotic solutions.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This position is located in Salt Lake City, UT and is not a remote position.
- This is a full-time, salaried/overtime-exempt position, classified as at-will employment.
- Work is generally performed Monday through Friday, with the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended times.
