Job Title: Medical Technologist
Job Specialty: General Laboratory
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift 9am to 7:30pm, weekend 7am to 7:30pm, 4x10
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in Hematology and general Chemistry
License: Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)
Certifications: EPIC Beaker LIS experience preferred
Must-Have:
- General lab experience in Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
- Experience with computerized inventory control systems (PeopleSoft and Omnicell)
- Ability to collect and analyze raw data to draw conclusions and make recommendations
Job Description:
- Oversee the management and replenishment of patient supply inventory throughout acute care, critical care, and ambulatory areas
- Perform or approve orders, review cycle counts, and manage financial expenses in accordance with departmental policies
- Manage systems such as Omnicell and OptiFlex to ensure accurate cost and revenue reporting
- Ensure charges for patient supplies are collected and processed accurately in compliance with policy
- Review discrepancies with Nursing to improve charge capture compliance
- Report financial, productivity, and operational performance through monthly metrics and dashboards
- Seek opportunities to optimize inventory levels to improve service levels while reducing costs
- Review operational and customer service problems and provide resolutions
- Perform analyses to maintain customer par levels with systems like OptiFlex, Omnicell, and Floor Stock
- Consult with customers to review usage reports and trends
- Conduct routine nurse management operational meetings
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Materials Management, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Nursing, or other healthcare/engineering/technical field of study
- Required 5 years of experience in logistics and distribution
- 2 years of supervisory/management experience
