Description:

As a senior actuarial advisor for group insurance, you play a key role in optimizing the profitability and risk-return balance of our products and services. You also support the underwriting and business development teams and work with other sectors of the organization, such as corporate actuarial services and product development. More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Advise and support your internal partners in the positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives in actuarial analysis (profitability analyses, underwriting and product development, expense analyses, projections, etc.)
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify and analyze major problems and issues
  • Diagnose issues and make recommendations to the sectors involved
  • Represent your team before decision-making committees
  • Collaborate with a wide range of contributors from various fields of expertise, ensuring effective and fluid communication
  • Guide and develop actuarial analysts on technical aspects of their work, by providing advice and training to help them advance their careers.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or in a related field
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in actuarial services for group insurance
  • Experience in a specialized advisory and coaching role with decision-making bodies
  • Title of Fellow or Associate of the ASA or FSA
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
