- Oversee the transportation budget and manage costs for a large geographical region, ensuring P&L performance aligns with the company's financial goals.
- Track and analyze regional transportation spend and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure reliable and on-time deliveries, maintaining service levels while optimizing transportation costs.
- Lead initiatives to improve transportation productivity, focusing on cost reductions, route optimization, fuel efficiency, and timely deliveries.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate transportation operations to ensure optimal resource utilization, productivity, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transportation professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Identify growth opportunities for team members and manage performance to achieve departmental goals.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team that drives innovation and process improvements within transportation operations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute regional transportation strategies, aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Monitor regional transportation trends and provide insights to guide decision-making and enhance operational performance.
- Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and long-term projects that impact regional or national transportation functions.
- Manage relationships with third-party carriers and service providers to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance with Tropicana's standards.
- Negotiate carrier contracts, rates, and capacity to meet regional shipping needs and ensure compliance with route guides.
- Partner with other departments such as logistics, supply chain, sales, and plant operations to ensure alignment and efficient transportation execution.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to other teams based on transportation performance metrics and data analysis.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including safety, environmental, and transportation laws.
- Promote a culture of safety within the team, ensuring all drivers and transportation partners adhere to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Provide regular reports and analysis on regional transportation performance, including service levels, cost metrics, and productivity.
- Lead and contribute to initiatives focused on process improvements and technological advancements within transportation.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement by leveraging innovative technologies, systems, and processes to optimize transportation.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field or 10 years relevant experience
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in transportation management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale transportation operations.
- Significant experience in managing a P&L and driving cost-effective solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex transportation networks across a large region or multi-site operations.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams and developing talent in a transportation or logistics environment.
- Skills:
- Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate, develop, and lead teams to achieve performance goals.
- Analytical Ability: Strong ability to analyze transportation data, identify trends, and implement solutions that drive performance.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively work with internal stakeholders, third-party carriers, and senior leadership.
- Problem-Solving: Creative and strategic thinker capable of solving complex transportation challenges.

- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, including safety and compliance requirements.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed within the region to oversee operations, meet with carriers, and engage with teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in managing transportation across multiple states or regions.
- Background in implementing transportation technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Experience in managing both in-house and third-party transportation resources.
