Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. Job Description
Under the general supervision and a direct report to the Chief Of Ancillary Services. The role also coordinates the systematic review and evaluation of operational activities in Radiation Oncology services. The role supports program management, workflow efficiency, Performance improvement, as well as collaborates with other departments associated with patient population. Liaisons with Queens program
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plans, develops and designs appropriate mechanisms for organizational program review and evaluation of operating activities and resource utilization within Radiation Oncology service line, and assists with coverage in Departments in Clinical Operations service line.
2. Administratively directs all staff titles in radiation oncology and collaborates with the Director of Service who is responsible for all clinical aspects of the department.
3. Directs, evaluates studies and program audits by monitoring operating activities through on-site visits, data analysis and reporting.
4. Assesses and investigates operational efficiencies, issues and obtains relevant date regarding the nature and scope of these problems.
5. Makes recommendations for resolving Radiation Oncology department operating problems and escalates to or liaison.
6. Collaborates with finance to ensure front end workflows supports and aligns with policies in achieve billing completion.
7. Participates in resolution of operational problems or those emerging in the implementation of new plans and programs by working the various operational and central units to develop appropriate action(s) and disposition(s).
8. Follows -up and Mentor the department staff regarding implementation activities
9. Maintains liaisons between operational units, healthcare settings in expediting the implementation of operational improvements to maximize efficiency.
10. Represents the Department at appropriate committees assigned by the Chief of Ancillary Services or Medical Director.
11. Administers special programs and activities as directed. 10. Serve as on call duty officer for operational issues on nights, weekends and holidays.
12. Prepares comprehensive reports in conjunction with the above responsibilities.
13. Performs related duties, as directed by Chief of Ancillary services.
14. Prepare and maintains staff schedules, attendance records and competencies based on professional organizations and hospital regulatory requirements
15. Participates and contributes to the Department PI program
16. Perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations of NYC Health + Hospitals
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university; and one (1) year of administrative and operational support or related experience; or
2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of experience, as described in "1" above; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and/or experience, as described in #3 of Assignment Levels I and II above.
4. All employees must complete the NYC Health + Hospitals Supervisory training within six (6) months of appointment.
