Responsible for the reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our telecommunication systems, while maintaining a detailed inventory of circuits, their usage and purpose.
Job Duties:
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive and accurate inventory of all telecommunications circuits, equipment, and services.
- Conducts regular audits and reconciliations to identify inventory discrepancies and documents circuit usage, purpose, and critical dependencies for all locations.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for our TEM vendor, fostering a strong and collaborative relationship.
- Analyzes telecom expenses to identify cost savings opportunities and implement effective cost control measure.
- Monitors and enforces contracted rates, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborates closely with site personnel to schedule and coordinate annual testing and validation of critical communication systems, including elevators, blue phones, areas of refuge, and emergency notification systems.
- Develops standardized testing procedures and documentation protocols.
- Proactively identifies and addresses potential vulnerabilities and risks to critical communication systems.
- Leads the negotiation and management of telecommunications contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Manages vendor relationships, monitors performance, and resolves contractual disputes.
- Develops and implements key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor telecom performance, usage, and cost.
- Generates comprehensive reports and dashboards to provide insights into telecom operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Presents findings and recommendations to senior management, highlighting opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
- Utilizes data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in telecom usage and expenses.
- Lead and manage telecom projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Quickly resolves issues that could cause service outages.
- Oversees circuit orders to guarantee timely completion.
- Regularly meets with Telecom Providers to stay informed on all issues and collaborate on tracking and resolving them.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in telecommunications, information technology, finance or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in telecommunications management.
Other:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of telecom technologies, including voice, data, and internet services.
- Extensive experience with TEM systems and processes.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong financial analysis and accounting background is a must.
