JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the development, generation, and presentation of information critical to the
ongoing measurements and operation of Revenue Cycle, emphasizing a standardized
process and overall financial performance. This position provides direction and project management using proven improvement methodologies in order to identify strategies that result in documented qualitative and quantitative improvement in Revenue Cycle performance and efficiency. Identifies and develops opportunities and initiatives to improve and enhance the consistency and standardization of Revenue Cycle process and promotes a culture of continuous improvement through the use of Lean methodology data analysis, reliability, sustainability and spread. Collaborates with a high performing team that meets the quality assurance and learning and development needs of Revenue Cycle while driving innovation and employee engagement.
Additionally, this role serves as the primary liaison between the corporate Revenue Cycle teams and Entity leadership for the proactive oversight of the Entity/Client relationship and Entity Revenue Cycle results, including (but not limited to) Charge Edits, Denials, Net Revenue Realization, Days in A/R, month end reserve process, and review/approve manual adjustments (per threshold). Through a deep understanding of the functional revenue cycle process this role, establishes and ensures leading practices and operations consistent with Piedmonts corporate Revenue Cycle, policies and procedures are followed in the local Entity environment and provides strategic guidance and direction on key Entity Revenue Cycle-specific operational and financial decisions.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management or related field is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible revenue cycle experience involving performance/operations improvement, project management and/or analysis to include three (3) years of leadership/management experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree preferred.
Proven understanding of revenue cycle operations and technology.
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies strongly preferred.
Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present ideas in a clear and
compelling manner to both executive and staff level audiences.
Leadership in a multi-hospital and employed physician environment; previous experience using or
implementing Epic is desired.
