Job Description
Job Title: OB/GYN Ultrasound Tech
Job Specialty: Women's Ultrasound Diagnostic Center
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days - 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 4 years working in OB/GYN. High-risk obstetrical experience of 2 years is desirable but not required.
License: Registered in OB/GYN
Certifications: Current BLS, NT certification by the Fetal-Medicine Foundation or NTQR
Must-Have: Experience with EPIC (Radiant)
Job Description:
- Perform OB/GYN exams such as transvaginal dating scans, nuchal translucency, anatomical surveys (low risk and high risk), and follow-up growth scans.
- Conduct biophysical profiles (BPPs), umbilical artery dopplers, and middle cerebral dopplers.
- Potentially perform fetal echocardiograms, transvaginal gynecological evaluations, follicular exams, and saline infusion sonograms.
- Carry out ultrasound-guided procedures including IUD insertions.
- Use Voluson E10 equipment; experience is desired but not required.
- Rotate between providing OB/GYN care for perinatologists and a large Women's Health Clinic.
- Work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with state-of-the-art equipment.
- Collaborate with two perinatologists who interpret all obstetrical exams performed within the Department.
- Work alongside 15 registered sonographers passionate about women's health.
- Participate in a two-week orientation (more if needed) under direct supervision/mentorship of a preceptor.
- Learn protocols, workflows, obtain EMR training in EPIC, and structure reporting training in the AS OB/GYN software.
Comments:
- Option to work five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days with a varying day off.
- Perform detailed first-trimester OB scans, anatomy scans, OB follow-ups, and GYN exams.
- Experience with multiples and detecting birth defects is preferred.
- Knowledgeable in performing detailed or targeted anatomical surveys, including evaluating fetal hearts per detailed protocol.
- Will not be required to work weekends or be on call.
