HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Customs Manager US, Canada, a & LATAM will be responsible for operative tasks (e.g. Import, Export. Preferential origin), providing guidance and support on proper processes in the US and Canada. Ensure compliance of customs operations within the region. Support Canadian CSA process, including participating in required audits. Provide Customs expertise, training, and support to plant colleagues in Brazil and Chile.

Job Description
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Customs Manager US, Canada, a & LATAM will be responsible for operative tasks (e.g. Import, Export. Preferential origin), providing guidance and support on proper processes in the US and Canada. Ensure compliance of customs operations within the region. Support Canadian CSA process, including participating in required audits. Provide Customs expertise, training, and support to plant colleagues in Brazil and Chile.
- Senior Expert for Customs operative tasks (e.g. Import, Export. Preferential origin), providing guidance and support on proper processes in the US and Canada.
- Ensure compliance of customs operations within the region.
- Support Canadian CSA process, including participating in required audits.
- Provide Customs expertise, training, and support to plant colleagues in Brazil and Chile.
- Analyze parts for FTA qualification for US and Canada agreements. Provide necessary certificates to customers or Customs Brokers.
- Work with external vendors to provide data for FTA qualification or solicitations.
- Manage, store, and provide USGR documentation and distribute to Customs Brokers when applicable.
- When needed, assist with Broker Requests for information such as HTS, TSCA, or ADD/CVD.
- Provide Duty Drawback Broker with data and documentation when needed.
- Ensure SAP feed for Canada shipments is accurate. Provide data to Canadian Broker when necessary.
- Periodically audit Customs Brokers to ensure accurate information was transmitted to Customs.
- Assist in ensuring CSA procedures are followed in Canada. Support plants with Customs import and export processes when necessary.
- Proactively search for improvements opportunities, bring ideas and prepare business cases and strategic presentations for management.
- Establish regular to-dos for the exchange of best practices in the region.
- Create Trade Bulletins and provide t raining for other departments and plants to increase awareness of trade compliance in the Americas Region.
- Support IT solutions within the regional plants such as S4 Hana and GTS.
- All other tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- Bachelor's degree and equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Trade Compliance required.
- Knowledge in SAP (P23, P68, EPP)
- Knowledge of Foreign Trade, Incoterms, Customs
- Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Teamwork and Project Management experience
- Knowledge of Legal and Corporate Compliance
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Processes
- Proficient knowledge of US Customs laws and requirements; understanding of logistics processes and carrier management; Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoints, process flows, email and SAP.
- Foreign Trade experience; Working with foreign team members. Knowledge of International Commerce and Customs
- Experience as team lead, or senior role in a foreign trade role preferred. Experience with Canadian Self-Assessment Program.
