JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To provide assistance to the high school principal in the operation of the total school program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Hold a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement or provisional endorsement as principal or administration and supervision PreK-12.
2. At least three years of successful, full-time experience as a teacher, supervisor or administrator, two years of which must have been at the secondary level.
3. Have demonstrated the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

REPORTS TO: Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To serve as primary administrator in the absence or disability of the principal.
2. To assist the principal in the implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the total school instructional program.
3. To assist the principal in the evaluation of instructional personnel as assigned by the principal.
4. To assist the principal in the selection, assignment, and orientation of staff.
5. To coordinate the assignments of and assist with supervision of student teachers, aides, and volunteers.
6. To coordinate programs and services supplementary to the instructional program.
7. To supervise student conduct and extracurricular activities as assigned by the principal
8. To perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
