As one of the nation's largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding their staff and seeking a Solar Solutions Manager to join the FSG team.

As a member of our Enterprise Solutions Team, you will lead and oversee a team of Solar Estimators and Designers to ensure that high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient solar solutions are delivered to our customers. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end estimation and design processes, ensuring seamless collaboration between internal teams, clients, and external partners. Your leadership and technical expertise will guide the team in developing accurate proposals and optimized designs that align with customer goals and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

As an FSG Solar Solutions Manager, you will:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Solar Estimators and Designers, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and quality in all project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to support proposing solar projects.
  • Oversee and approve solar system designs and cost estimates, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize processes for solar estimation, design, and proposal generation.
  • Ensure all designs and proposals align with customer specifications, project budgets, and FSG's quality standards.
  • Evaluate and manage project risks while recommending value-engineering opportunities to improve project success.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new solar products, equipment, and vendors to enhance system performance and reduce costs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and vendors to stay informed about new technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and facilitate ongoing training to enhance knowledge of emerging solar technologies.
  • Review and approve project proposals, including system layouts, and energy simulations.
  • Support customer engagement by providing expert insights and addressing technical questions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative and customer-centric culture within the team by encouraging open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze project performance metrics to identify areas for process optimization and team development.
  • Maintain FSG internal CRM, "Engage," by ensuring accurate documentation of project opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed FSG-developed KPIs related to customer satisfaction, project accuracy, and process efficiency.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of solar PV system design, estimation, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients, team members, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in solar design and estimation software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, PVBid, Helioscope, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret project specifications, drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Contribute to the team by sharing knowledge, challenging ideas, and promoting collaboration.
  • Be accountable to yourself, your co-workers, vendors, and customers.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight up to 25%, depending on business needs.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage tight deadlines and complex projects.

Preferred:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in solar design, estimation, or project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional, Design Specialist, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in managing battery storage, EV charging, and microgrid solutions.
  • Knowledge of utility interconnection processes and permitting requirements.
