Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Luxury Client Marketing Leader will lead the marketing organization for middle market Jewelry, Fine Art, and fragmented dealer programs within the Lifestyle Business Team. This leader will drive the development and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics to achieve client and merchant business objectives that align with Synchrony growth metrics. This position works collaboratively with the business General Manager, the sales organization and partner organizations to drive incremental cardholder growth and card usage. As the industry marketing leader, this role will have responsibility for developing and leading a team of direct reports.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business and client team to lead, develop, implement, and monitor dynamic annual growth strategies and plans. Collaborate cross functionally.
  • Lead and develop this new client's financing program value propositions and go to market strategies.
  • Establish and develop key relationships at senior levels of client organizations.
  • Understand and incorporate clients' key business objectives, strategic vision, and marketing calendar into the planning process to achieve set objectives.
  • Optimize marketing spend and pursue additional funds to meet growth goals.
  • Identify portfolio segments to target for partner and business gain; test and implement programs to grow these segments. Drive insights from data.
  • Manage all aspects of the value proposition, including acquisition offers, lifecycle campaigns, loyalty programs as well as tracking industry trends, competitor's and customer experience metrics. Ensure program profitability and penetration through continued enhancements.
  • Drive programs to effectively work in an multi-channel environment. Ensure digital assets are in place and optimized. Push for cutting edge thinking and agenda.
  • Monitor & manage performance of all key credit and marketing metrics vs. plan. Assist in the development of the Synchrony Financial planning cycle.
  • Lead and develop a team of direct reports.
  • Bring a curious approach to learning this new client and their consumers.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 15 years of marketing experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of marketing experience, preferably in credit card or financial services to include (can be concurrent):
    • 5 years of growth marketing leadership with exposure to consumer-facing programs and products
    • 5 years of experience with developing and delivering financial services products via digital channels
    • 5 years of experience in PLCC or general-purpose credit card product management
  • Ability to travel as needed (~20%)

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with fragmented dealer relationship management and marketing strategies
  • Direct to consumer product marketing experience with both acquisition and loyalty/lifecycle channels
  • Experiences using a Customer Data Platform (CDP) to collect and unify customer data across various channels, allowing for the creation of highly personalized marketing campaigns and customer experiences tailored to individual needs, including responsibilities like data analysis, segmentation, campaign creation, and optimizing personalization strategies across different marketing touchpoints
  • Ability to fully diagnose a market and identify growth opportunities
  • Ability to build business cases and balance metrics/creativity to influence GM and client C-Suite
  • Skilled at using data to drive business decisions; experience working with client data-share initiatives desirable
  • Ability to diagnose and stop work processes with low ROI as well as elevate high ROI initiatives


Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
