Job Duties

Responsible for all aspects of the University's undergraduate, graduate student housing programs, off-campus residential facilities, development and implementation of strategic plans, management of budget and fiscal responsibilities, and oversight of the residential conduct process; desk operations, leadership development, and residential-based retention efforts. Also responsible for all aspects of the residential student housing program including but may not be limited to direct and indirect supervision of designated professional, classified, part-time, and student staff; implementation of academic support and co-curricular initiatives within the residential environment; develops and implements crisis response and management strategies as well as customer service and other programming initiatives. Provides oversight for housing operations, including hall preparation, capital planning projects, maintenance and/or repair needs, and hall replacement and/or preventive maintenance projects. Participates in the 24-hour on-call schedule for student emergencies and provides follow-up appropriately with any necessary interventions. This position is classified as essential personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive knowledgeable of college student housing operational policies and procedures; attentiveness to details, excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional interpersonal and human relations skills, excellent organizational/planning skills. Must be able to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and possess excellent personal computer skills. Must be able to function well and provide solid leadership during crises and under intense pressure and stressful conditions.

Additional Considerations

Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification required for entry into position: Must possess a minimum of a
Master's degree, preferably in Counseling, Psychology, Student Personnel, Education, or a student affairs field.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a master's degree is required. At least three years' supervisory experience in college student housing at the level of Associate/Assistant Director.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in counseling, Psychology, Student Personnel, Education, or a student
affairs field is preferred. At least five years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in college student housing is strongly preferred. At least two years' experience with supervision of room and meal assignments, maintenance
reporting/renovation/repair projects, and hall readiness management is also strongly preferred.
