We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - API & Integration to join our API & Integration team. This role is critical in bridging business objectives with technology solutions by defining and delivering API and integration requirements. In addition to integration responsibilities, the Senior BSA may also take on broader business project BA duties when required-supporting cross-functional initiatives with end-to-end business analysis, stakeholder management, and solution delivery leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

API & Integration Focus:
  • Collaborate with business teams to elicit, analyze, and document API and integration requirements across a range of enterprise initiatives.
  • Define API specifications, including request/response structures, payload formats, system interactions, and data mappings.
  • Support API design and lifecycle management, including cataloging, versioning, reusability, and governance.
  • Work with architects and developers to ensure APIs align with integration patterns, platform standards, and business outcomes.
  • Participate in data and event-driven integration efforts, including Kafka stream processing, schema definitions, and data contracts.
  • Ensure API implementations meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.

Broader Business Analysis Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage end-to-end business analysis for projects that include but are not limited to integration-focused components.
  • Elicit and document business requirements, process flows, business rules, and user stories in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Develop business cases, define MVP scope, and support prioritization aligned with business goals.
  • Support solution evaluation, gap analysis, and vendor selection activities where required.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams (business, IT, QA, PMO, vendors) to support project execution.
  • Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate user training and readiness activities.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, with demonstrated success in both integration/API-related projects and broader business initiatives.
  • Proven experience in defining RESTful APIs, SOAP services, GraphQL APIs, and documenting using OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Familiarity with API Management platforms ( e.g. Apigee) and Event Streaming platform (e.g., Kafka).
  • Solid understanding of event-driven architecture, microservices, and cloud-native integration patterns.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to navigate complex business and technology landscapes.
  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum environments; proficient in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Postman, and modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance or financial services industry is an asset.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
