Pay Range: Low: $110,000 Cap: $125,000 (based on averages provided by CALISBOA for NorCal schools with similar enrollments and operating budgets.)

Pay Rate: Annual

Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly

Summary: The Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the school's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation, security, and technical support. This role includes managing systems administration, network oversight, and device deployment while collaborating with school leadership on long-term technology strategies. Additionally, this position may involve direct interaction with students through teaching a technology-related elective and supporting school operations.

Infrastructure, Systems Administration & Technical Oversight
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Manage and resolve escalated IT support tickets, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Maintain and support the school's network and core systems.
  • Supervise the Technology Support Associate, ensuring service levels are met and providing mentorship.
  • Manage device deployments, configurations, and system updates across the school.
  • Ensure data security, system backups, and high availability of critical IT services.
  • Support rostering, data integration, and platform alignment across various systems.
  • Assist with special events requiring IT support, including evenings and weekends.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with school leadership on IT planning, system upgrades, and long-term strategy.
  • Document system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
  • Input and verify class schedules and rosters in Veracross for accuracy and seamless operation.
  • Manage speakers and sound systems.


Security & Compliance
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices, including network security, data protection, and access controls.
  • Monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.
  • Conduct periodic security training for staff and students to promote digital safety awareness.
  • Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations and school policies related to IT security.
  • Collaborate and support the facilities team with the Visitor Management system, SchoolPass.
Educational & Community Engagement
  • Teach a technology-related elective course for middle school students.
  • Provide occasional one-off technology lessons for lower school students as needed.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff in student-facing duties, including arrival/dismissal, recess, and lunch supervision.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree
  • Minimum 3 years as a system administrator, technical support specialist, or similar role (school infrastructure experience is preferred)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent research and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize support requests and work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision, and escalate support requests as necessary to ensure that all support requests are resolved within acceptable time frames.
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to work well with K-8 students, adult colleagues, and families; willing to be an active, enthusiastic member of the community
  • Experience training or teaching adults
  • Approachable and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Can-do spirit

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree
  • Familiarity with Macbooks, iPads, Google Workspace, monitors, printing management systems, projectors, and Front Row systems is highly desirable
  • Experience working in an educational environment

  • Must be able to travel safely and comfortably between our two buildings
  • Must be able to frequently, safely, and comfortably lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Able to adjust to multiple work environments (office, classroom, and outdoor)
  • Must be able to comfortably and safely, climb, bend, pull, reach, kneel, stoop, and see for near and far work.
  • Must be able to view and operate a computer and related technology and equipment at least 90% of working time.
