Role Summary:
The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) is recruiting an Assistant Vice President, Media and Public Relations to join our growing Public Affairs team which sits within the larger External Affairs Department. The AVP, Media and Public Relations will be responsible for overseeing new and existing public affairs initiatives/communications. The position will work with the Vice President, Director of Public Affairs to develop and execute communication strategies that promote the company's business platforms and initiatives as well as the positive impact created through its work nationally as a nonprofit multifamily housing financial institution. This role will also work to strengthen the company's relationship with our partners both internally (other departments and field offices) and externally (borrowers, government partners, vendors, etc.). This position may also take the lead or play a supporting role in strategic planning and execution of certain other communications activities and campaigns, including events, webinars, partner communications, and internal/corporation communications.

This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two - three days a week. The salary range is $105,000 - $125,000, dependent on experience.

What You'll Do:
- Work closely with External Affairs team to align long-term goals for promoting CPC's businesses, initiatives, mission, and impact in all relevant markets and geographies.
- Play a key role in helping to plan for key department verticals, including public relations goals, brand strategy, digital communications/marketing strategy, and budgeting.
- Take a lead role in managing the company's relationship with its public relations firm on retainer. This may include but is not limited to drafting and editing press releases, managing media inquiries, developing pitches, tracking media coverage, and ensuring consistent messaging to the public.
- Working with CPC's Digital Content and Strategy Manager to facilitate the creation of content for CPC's digital social media platforms, email marketing and communications, and website and other projects as needed.
- Support senior and executive staff with communications activities including but not limited to drafting external emails to customers and partners, building briefing documents and supporting materials (i.e. PowerPoint presentations, run of shows, background materials, presentation support, etc.)
- Assist the Marketing and Strategic Communications team with drafting Internal and Corporate Communications as needed.
- Attend events and provide assistance with physical setup and/or advance as needed.
- Perform other administrative duties, as required
- Occasional travel may be required.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of related work experience required
- Media relations experience and experience or knowledge of real estate lending strongly preferred but not required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and research skills and ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive projects under tight deadlines internally and externally
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills required; temperament to communicate with all levels of management in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, PowerPoint, and general database systems is required
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), preferred, but not required
- Proven proficiency in creating social media content for social media preferred but not required
- Proficient in customer relationship management (CRM) tools such as HubSpot for contact list generation, email marketing, etc.
- Prior experience managing social networks through Hootsuite preferred but not required
- Knowledge of WordPress web management system preferred but not required
- Occasional travel required
