The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance and oversees/coordinates the monthly and year-end financial close, ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial data. The Accounting Manager reviews balance sheets and income statements, performs account analysis, reviews account reconciliations with the Director of Accounting and Finance to make sure all Financial Statements are timely, accurate, complete, and presentable. This position will oversee a team of Accountants. The Accounting Manager will need to build collaborative relationships across cross functional departments with a Servant Leadership approach.

Responsibilities
Oversee/Perform Month-End Closing & Analysis (100%)
- Complete the monthly general ledger close process in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establish and manage close deadlines to meet strict deadlines to submit financial data to Ascension Health System Office.
- Prepare journal entries and review and approve and post journal entries made by Accounting Team.
- Oversee the Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet Accounts.
- Prepare Consolidated Financial Statements and insure elimination accounts work properly.
- Print and review financial statements for reasonableness.
- Oversee intercompany allocations and eliminations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and the integrity of financial statements.
- Oversee and lead a team of general accountants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university -required.
License/Certification:
- CPA, CMA or other Professional Accounting Designation-preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of practical general ledger accounting experience -required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience leading the accounting function in closing the books -required.
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office applications with an emphasis on Excel -required.
- Experience in medium to large companies a plus- preferred.
- Experience with oversight and leadership of teams-preferred.
- Experience with D365, HFM, Oracle, or One Stream Software Applications is a plus-preferred.
