We have an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Account Manager to join our Pharmacy Innovation & Trade Strategy team, reporting to the Pharmacy Partnership & Strategy Manager. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing on partnership opportunities with key retail chains and banners and select specialty pharmacies aligned with brand strategies.

This position will play a critical role in the creation and execution of brand strategies of the key products for AbbVie Canada's portfolio.

Key responsibilities:
  • Identify, develop and execute on partnerships with specialty pharmacies and pharmacy chains & banners by:
    • Leveraging the evolving scope of pharmacy practice to capitalize on opportunities to improve patient access to care and improve health outcomes
    • Ensuring that programs or new initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities identified by the brand team.
    • Leading customer meetings with proper governance and involve cross-functional colleagues, when required.
    • Analyzing and presenting market dynamic information, sales data, marketing information and market access updates to enhance account development.
    • Ensuring customers are well informed about AbbVie products including product changes, back orders and launches
    • Conducting quarterly business review with customers.
    • Strategically invest in retail pharmacy conferences and coordinate across the portfolio and identify in field team attendance at booths
    • Ensuring optimal communication with proper internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in brand teams ad hoc and in-field teams
    • Identify opportunities to enhance pharmacist knowledge on therapeutic areas related to AbbVie products. Develop, improve, and maintain the education distribution model.
    • Work with commercial to develop appropriate collateral material for retail pharmacies with a digital focus
    • Play an active role in in-field team initiatives and work collaboratively with colleagues in ensuring strong execution against strategic priorities (Commercial, AbbVie Care and Market Access).
  • Ensure best practice sharing across team members and bring agility at resolving business issues by being strategic, resourceful and accountable.


Qualifications

Education / Experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Science or Health Care. Related or equivalent field may also be considered.
  • Previous business experience with proven knowledge, in similar roles requiring comprehensive understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (minimum of five to eight years).
    • Extensive pharmaceutical experience (ideally a minimum of five years).
    • Proven track record in project management.
    • Poses a positive and persistent attitude, with strong negotiation skills.
    • Strong understanding of typical functions and procedures with a demonstrated track record in building strong relationships and partnerships with external customers or other relevant external stakeholders.
    • Strong commitment to compliance, quality, integrity.
    • Ability to think strategically (work plans, activities, timetables, targeting and operating with execution excellence).

Essential skills and abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).

  • Drive the development, prioritization, and strategic partnerships for key accounts.
  • Capability to work in a high-performing matrix organization.
  • Sharp cross-functional leadership skills with an ability to be a team player and leading across functions without direct reporting authority

  • Effective presentation, written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with people individually and groups.
  • Demonstrated account management skills.
