This is a key Market Development Manager role with the responsibility for driving and supporting Market business development for key product lines. The position will require regular interaction with operations, sales and marketing, engineering, senior and executive level leadership team as well as frequent interaction with our customers for all markets served.
Your role
Reports to Senior Product Application Manager. Ensure execution of market segment plan. Work with extended team to uncover truly high value problems at end user customers/OEMs where we can win. Ensure qualification position and sizing of market opportunities to ensuring we are pursuing the highest valued opportunities. Aggressively grow pump and system sales as required to meet/exceed division expectations. Annual targets to be achieved per year.

This is a key Market Development Manager role with the responsibility for driving and supporting Market business development for key product lines. The position will require regular interaction with operations, sales and marketing, engineering, senior and executive level leadership team as well as frequent interaction with our customers for all markets served.
Your role
- Business Development: Measure historical market trends for AC, set baselines and targets for future growth. Develop strategic and tactical steps to meet those targets
- Market/Applications Management: Serve as regional Market and Application specialist for sizing, support, and strategy. Provide support for vacuum system design, application engineering, and proposal generation to assist the sales force in promoting pump and system sales. Review and responds to customer inquiries and specifications on a timely basis. Design vacuum systems to meet customer requirements. Travel to customer sites and make presentations, as necessary.
- Local/global integration: Work with PC's, Systems, local suppliers, and customers to source and offer the best solution for specific customer requirements.
- Product Management: Local product management role to source, create and maintain part numbers in SAP that are relevant for the region.
- Regional Feedback: Provide direction and focus to Product Management on current and next generation product platform development based on regional requirements and experience.
- Driving Market/Application and Product Sales: Work with Sales, Distribution, and customers to review requirements and develop the most attractive solution utilizing the Atlas Copco Vacuum product lines and PC systemization capability.
- Pricing Management: Manage and maintain local pricing strategy and tools. Determine market pricing targets for projects to ensure competitiveness in specific markets/applications/products.
- Sales Focus: Determine target markets and applications to direct Sales to areas with highest potential of success based on trends, products, and experience. E.g. Power, plastic processing, chemical, pharma etc.
- Develop Value Propositions and go-to Market Strategies: Quantify and capture product value in "Why-Buy" marketing documents and develop a market strategy for the current next generation platform across different applications, regions, and customers. Work with sales and account managers to execute on marketing strategies to meet product revenue and margin targets.
- Business Support: Perform detailed financial analysis and define business cases to support: forecasting, project justifications, product margins and other business activities. Drive pricing and cost policies and controls to improve business performance.
- Develop and Upgrade Market based Materials: Create new content and update legacy value propositions and product marketing materials, including online and printed communications. Setup structured locations and repositories of content for easy access by customers as well as internal stakeholders.
- Drive training packages (e-learning, webinars...) to improve product, sales arguments and competitor information.
- Provide Training: Develop and roll-out training material and organize regular training sessions.
- Minimize warranty costs: Work with customers and VTS to review product failures and determine if application or quality related. Navigate the Nexus and PARS system to ensure is taken and customer satisfaction is achieved.

To Succeed You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree level or higher in Science or Engineering discipline.
- 5 plus years' experience within either or a combination of Vacuum Pump and systems applications or equivalent vacuum product sales / business development experience.
- Experience within OEM or End User business in; process equipment development, product management or marketing
- Experience in one or more roles including: Engineering, Business Development, Product Manager or similar.
- Proven Business Development skills - essential
- Creative & Strategic thinking skills - essential
- Ability to motivate and drive cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Conflict resolution & mediation, good negotiation skill - essential
- Excellent communication, presentation skills
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Customer and Quality Focused
- Fluent English Essential - Spanish and French useful
- Knowledge of Material Science, Chemistry and Physics relating to customers' technical processes used across industries.
