The Opportunity

The Presales Readiness Specialist is a strategic individual contributor responsible for designing and executing a skills-based readiness strategy that accelerates Systems Engineer (SE) productivity and drives measurable business impact. This role ensures SEs are equipped with core competencies in technical validation, demo execution, solution positioning, and customer engagement-enabling them to lead effective technical sales conversations and support Nutanix's go-to-market motion.

This role also leads workforce development and reskilling initiatives that evolve with industry trends, emerging technologies, and hybrid cloud architectures-including VMs, containers, and multi-cloud environments. Partnering cross-functionally with Presales, Enablement, Product, and Marketing, the Specialist builds structured, scalable, and data-informed learning experiences that close knowledge gaps, support career development, and strengthen presales effectiveness at scale.

About the Team

Based in Durham, North Carolina, this team fosters a collaborative and supportive culture aimed at driving the growth and development of employees. The mission of the team is to create a formal curriculum that prepares individuals for their roles as field sales engineers or systems engineers, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to effectively engage with customers and manage their own business accounts.

You will report to the Manager, Solutions Strategy & Transformation, who values autonomy and encourages team members to take ownership of their projects. This manager prioritizes a culture of accountability and collaboration, promoting regular in-person interactions among team members. The preference is for the Readiness Specialist to work on-site in the Durham office 2-3 days a week to facilitate this collaboration.

Your Role

Presales Readiness Strategy
  • Leads a skills-based readiness strategy that accelerates SE productivity, aligns with presales methodology, and evolves with Nutanix's go-to-market priorities.
  • Develops scalable reskilling, upskilling, and mentorship programs that reflect core SE competencies and industry-relevant trends including hybrid cloud and cloud-native technologies.
  • Designs and delivers engaging learning experiences-from technical training and product knowledge to professional development and solution positioning.
  • Guides career development and performance growth, curating resources, amplifying existing content, and supporting personalized learning journeys.

Measurement & Optimization
  • Monitors and analyzes SE performance data to define and refine readiness metrics, competency progression, and training impact.
  • Validates SE knowledge and skill gaps through observation, feedback, and performance metrics, and ensures gaps are addressed through training, coaching, or strategic initiatives.
  • Uses a data-driven approach to continuously refine enablement programs and assess learning effectiveness at scale.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Acts as a strategic partner to SE leadership and ICs, identifying opportunities to improve skills, performance, and field impact.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver relevant, high-quality initiatives and resolve skill gaps through program ownership or partnership.
  • Advises on learning experience design and best practices, ensuring programs reflect effective adult learning and skills assessment strategies.
  • Drives adoption of SE tools and methodologies, while modeling a growth mindset and fostering continuous learning across the SE community.

Program & Content Delivery
  • Builds and delivers learning experiences, and programs designed for scale, repeatability, and role-specific relevance.
  • Ensures consistency and quality across enablement initiatives spanning products, industries, and presales functions.
  • Partners with enablement teams to ensure presales resources are aligned with presales methodologies, accessible to SEs, and continuously refined for relevance across knowledge repositories, LMS platforms, and hands-on environments.
  • Ensures SE readiness programs incorporate critical industry concepts such as workload mobility, application modernization, and evolving customer needs.


What You Will Bring

Experience:
  • 7+ years in presales, sales enablement, program design, or talent development, preferably in a technical or go-to-market environment.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid cloud, cloud-native architectures, workload mobility and presales processes, tools, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and mentoring early-career professionals, including building and managing mentorship and career development programs.
  • Proven ability to lead scalable training initiatives and readiness programs that support technical skills development and professional growth.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Product, Marketing, and Technical Enablement to deliver impactful programs.
  • A passion for developing people-especially early-career talent-and a proactive approach to building impactful learning experiences.
  • A strategic mindset that connects enablement initiatives to business outcomes and evolving presales needs.
  • A growth mindset, with a personal commitment to continuous learning, skill-building, and innovation.

Skills:
  • Technical knowledge of hybrid cloud, VMs, containers, and cloud-native architectures
  • Expertise in skills-based learning, competency modeling, and presales methodology.
  • Strong expertise in training design and facilitation, with the ability to deliver engaging and informative learning experiences across multiple modalities.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, skills assessment strategies, and best practices in creating structured, scalable learning.
  • Excellent project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver on tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills to track readiness progress, assess enablement impact, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to operationalize training initiatives that enhance SE effectiveness.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management, ensuring alignment across teams and clear articulation of technical concepts.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications in instructional design, facilitation, cloud technologies, or related areas are a bonus.


Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 101,280 and USD $ 202,920 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
