The Strategy, Enablement & Industry (SE&I) team plays a crucial role in transforming Microsoft's Commercial Strategy into actionable plans that drive significant impact for the nonprofit sector. By fostering and creating programs and offers that meet customer needs, and providing deep insights across regions and segments, the SE&I team accelerates digital transformation and AI adoption. This enables Microsoft to deliver large-scale mission impact for the nonprofit sector.
We are in search of a Nonprofit Business Planning Director to lead Nonprofit Programs and Grants within our Tech for Social Impact extended leadership team. This role requires a leader with expertise in business and strategic planning to define the pricing strategy and grants offered to the nonprofit sector. In this position, you will provide guidance to TSI Leadership on Cloud and AI go-to-market strategies, the competitive landscape, and emerging business opportunities. Your work will contribute to the creation of offers that promote digital transformation and influence purchasing behaviors, equipping nonprofit partners with the necessary tools to carry out their missions more efficiently.
In your role, you will conduct program landscape research and analysis, identify and scope opportunities for new program development and enhancement of existing ones, and lead the definition and tracking of success criteria and performance metrics. Your skills will be essential in promoting complex programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers, ensuring widespread acceptance and support. You will oversee the entire TSI offer portfolio, managing its lifecycle and balancing market share and margin accountability.
This role not only allows you to develop your coaching and leadership skills but also positions you as a thought leader, enabling you to deliver successful business outcomes through others. Responsibilities:
Business Management
- Develop s and orchestrate s execution of business strategy. Track s the efficacy of plans to drive long-term sustainable growth for the business Represent s the outcomes of your business providing context and insight into the results in Rhythm of Business meetings, as well as monthly and quarterly business reviews with executives .
- Ensure field communities have the support and readiness needed to run the business in their patch. Serve as the primary orchestrator between corporate and the field and ensure leadership is aligned on business results and plan of actions to take.
- The ability to understand the parts of the business and their interrelationships. This includes skill in understanding the industry, competition, and expected future developments and challenges, opportunities to grow the business and reduce operating costs; and awareness of the environment for opportunities.
- Knowledge of and ability to use technology-driven practices for the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of information to make informed business decisions. This includes creating dashboards, testing, and defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Completes the required training and seeks additional learning opportunities to obtain relevant nonprofit expertise and certifications pertinent to the role and the sector itself. Proactively builds and maintains knowledge of Microsoft's and other industry-relevant solutions and other capabilities. Proactively builds knowledge of the industry, including trends, policy implications (e.g., privacy), and competitors to act as a subject matter expert and inform decisions on pursuit or withdrawal.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in business strategy, consulting, business development, technical sales and/or marketing strategy
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in business planning cloud computing services or AI services in Nonprofit, sector driving revenue generation or workload consumption augmentation.
- MBA Preferred.
- A proven track record of owning business topline metrics and delivering tangible business results.
- Experience in creating and driving programs/businesses in the field required.
- People management experience developing and coaching talent.
- Analytical skills to analyze financial business performance, identify market trends to proactively discover opportunities and develop useful insights from data.
- Ability and high comfort degree to handle and thrive in ambiguous business situations.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, data, security and AI business and competitor landscape.
- Adaptable and flexible to change course without disruption.
- Proven record of driving storytelling and creating clarity with stakeholders.
- Core marketing communications skills & experience.
