We are excited for the opportunity to bring aboard highly motivated and energetic individuals to join our teams. Currently, we are seeking a Additive Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role supports a Navy customer in Lexington Park, MD.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
1. Resident knowledge of Fleet Maintenance operations (6+ years of relevant experience)
a. Provide AM SME support with regard to the AM 550 work centers
b. ASM QAR/QSI generate requirements/tests
a. Maintenance policy/procedure update recommendations (NAVAIRINST, SOP, NAMP)
i. Individual Materiel Requirements List (IMRL)
ii. Individual Component Repair List (ICRL)
2. Provide recommended updates to training materials for fleet operators and NAVAIR Instructors
a. Maintenance manuals review/recommendation
b. NASAM Schoolhouse curriculum/training review and update recommendations
3. Instruct sailors and marines in the operation of AM equipment iaw NAVAIR and NAVSEA published instructions
4. Oversee vendor delivery and training
5. Draft recommendation to DoD/DoN policy for the implementation of Advance Manufacturing
6. Network with DoD, active duty military, academia and industry to advocate for AM and NAVAIR capabilities
7. Attend weekly AM part processing meetings
a. Identify areas of needed action/solutions between Engineers and Fleet Operators
b. Maintain streamlined strategies to increase efficiency for development and prototyping
c. Part modeling assistance/guidance
8. Fleet engagement
a. Monitor current status of systems and personnel
b. Troubleshooting/machine support
c. Keep units up-to-date with repository affecting T/M/S
d. 'First Responder' to part requests from units and monitors progress with communication back to Fleet units
e. Brief Fleet status on IPT Weeklies
f. DoN exercises support
9. Take results from task 7 and leveraged AM exposure to pursue continued AM growth amongst the NAE
a. Provide support to Engineering for parts solicitation visits (Intermediate Depot levels)
b. Help engineering gain POC's and strategies for implementing AM usage into Organizational levels
c. Maintain Current list of POC's for ALL AM work centers (also supporting task 4)
Basic Requirements:
Resident knowledge of Fleet Maintenance operations (6+ years of relevant experience)
Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree preferred
Security Clearance: Secret or above (must be a US Citizen)
Telework and Travel: Hybrid
