Lone Star Capital is seeking a Tax Manager to lead and optimize all tax-related activities across our real estate investment portfolio. This is a critical role for someone who takes initiative, values accuracy, and wants to be part of a high-performing team building something extraordinary.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Management & Filings
- Lead the preparation and review of investor, corporate, and property-level tax returns
- Ensure compliance for payroll, workers' compensation, and sales tax filings
- Coordinate depreciation allocations for investors and side-letters
Entity & Compliance Oversight
- Prepare and file annual state and federal entity reports (Franchise Tax, Delaware, Public Information, etc.)
- Manage Blue Sky Filings for investor compliance in all relevant jurisdictions
- Track and file fees for all entities, including 1031 exchange vehicles
- Coordinate new entity formations, bank account setups, and AppFolio Investment Management Portal onboarding
- Support legal document preparation, including PPMs and operating agreements
- Keep the organizational structure for each venture updated and ensure full legal compliance
- Stay ahead of evolving tax requirements and proactively implement updates
Investor & Team Collaboration
- Conduct internal audits and review monthly financials for accuracy
- Assist in tax-related inquiries for all LSC departments
- Support HR in payroll administration and tax compliance
Skills & Values
- CPA with experience in real estate partnership tax filings
- Plans accordingly to meet deadlines with time for review
- Strong communicator who enjoys structure and process
- Comfortable working with legal documents and financial data
- Collaborative but independent - taking initiative when needed
- Experienced in tax filings, entity management, and investor support (Real Estate/Private Equity experience preferred but not necessary)
