About the Role
Public Safety Operations at Uber serves as the engagement point for law enforcement and public health authorities globally - ensuring data privacy and promoting public safety.
We are currently searching for an Operations Manager within Public Safety, who will be responsible for providing operational management to the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) - AMERICAS Hub. You will use your ability to manage people and operations applying contemporary analytical tools and techniques to support your team in responding to complex requests for data relating to serious criminal investigations. Requests often relate to critical incidents and frequently involve emergency circumstances requiring timely and accurate responses.

What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a team of PSRT Specialists, providing guidance, support, and development.
- Oversee process escalations and collaborate with senior management to align on priorities.
- Protect the privacy of our users' data through a robust analysis of requests against our stringent legal and policy requirements.
- Be flexible and prepared to cover weekend duties and public holidays as necessary.
- Contribute to process improvement of procedures, new features/products to reinforce data protection of our users.
- Allocate staff in response to demand workflows in accordance with direction from your Senior Hub Manager.
- Collaborate with partners across your Hub and Global PSRT response teams.
- Conduct weekly quality assurance checks on work performed by your regional team.
- Implement actions for post-incident reviews of requests.
Basic Qualifications
- A Minimum of (8) eight years of regional/global law enforcement, public safety response experience or safety operations experience and at least (2) two years of direct management experience.
- Knowledge and experience related to data protection legislation and criminal/administrative investigations.
- Expertise in regional data disclosure laws (e.g., ECPA)
- Advanced understanding of handling of confidential information and appreciation for privacy protection.
Preferred Qualifications
- IAPP Certification preferred.
- Excellent business judgment, ability to build credibility, great communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done.
- Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving global environment.
- Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
- SQL experience and knowledge of data analytics tools, data tables and/or data visualisation tools and reporting is a bonus!

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$128,000 per year - USD$142,500 per year.
For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$128,000 per year - USD$142,500 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$128,000 per year - USD$142,500 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
