The Vice President of Construction Sales is responsible for leading the sales and estimating functions within Comfort Systems USA Southwest. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical contracting, preconstruction estimating, and business development to drive growth and operational excellence. The VP will collaborate with the executive team to develop strategic objectives and oversee sales initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Growth
- Serve on the CSUSA SW Executive Committee, contributing to the development and execution of company-wide strategic objectives.
- Oversee the Estimating Department, ensuring accurate and competitive project bids.
- Lead business development efforts, identifying new opportunities, expanding market presence, and strengthening client relationships.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish and achieve off-site manufacturing goals for pre-construction and operations teams.
- Provide conceptual preconstruction estimating, delivering accurate budgets and cost projections to clients.
- Develop and implement sales programs to maintain and grow customer relationships.
- Drive revenue growth by expanding the client base and ensuring high conversion rates on bids and proposals.
- Work closely with project teams to align sales strategies with operational capabilities and project execution.
- Manage and mentor the Estimating and Sales team, setting revenue targets and sales goals.
- Oversee project-specific cost planning and final hard estimates for clients.
- Ensure quality assurance and efficiency in project execution, collaborating with the Pre-Construction, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
- Leverage deep experience in HVAC, tenant improvement, retail, healthcare, education, and industrial manufacturing to enhance project execution and sales success.
- Utilize a trade background to provide expert guidance in mechanical contracting, ensuring customer needs are met with high-quality solutions.
- 30+ years of experience in mechanical contracting, construction sales, and estimating.
- Proven leadership experience managing sales teams, estimating departments, and business development functions.
- Expertise in HVAC trade knowledge, value engineering, and construction management.
- Strong background in preconstruction estimating and conceptual budgeting.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with executive leadership, operations, and field teams to optimize project success.
- Experience developing and managing multi-million-dollar sales initiatives.
