Job Description
Act as a point of contact for client interface and stakeholder communications, at all project stages
Lead the Cost Management aspect of the projects in sectors including Technology, Manufacturing, and Commercial Real Estate
Lead cost management aspect of Manufacturing facilities like EV Batteries, Auto Manufacturing and Data Centers including day-to-day delivery, key stakeholder meetings and monthly reports.
Prepare and update cost estimates as design develops from concept to construction level drawings and specification. Present the final cost plan to the client and provide advice as required.
Quantify and measure construction work utilizing CostX software.
Lead and negotiate different types of contracts including Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), Target Maximum Price (TMP), Unit Price, which involves a comprehensive review of all construction divisions/bid analysis (CSA & MEP), general conditions/general requirements/markup calculations, Taxes, insurances and labor rate reviews and finalizing assumptions and the basis of estimate.
Reconcile changes that occur over the planning phase and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
Communicate or meet with general contractor and owner project manager to gather status information to prepare a cost estimate update.
Prepare written comments to the general contractor's submissions, including the executive summary. Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions; Review proposals received from suppliers, subcontractors, and quantities from the Architect/Engineer's design team
Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders to deliver the best cost solution to the client.
Establish close-out documentation requirements. Collect and track receipt of all close-out documents until completion, including warranties, as-builts, O&M manuals, etc.
Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes. Implement and manage best practice estimating process using CostX software and in-house estimating templates
Lead training in cost management procedures, templates and products including AutoCad, Bluebeam, CostX, BIM, Financial systems and Client based commercial reports. Daily use of online project management software including BIM360, Procore, Smartsheet. Manage Contract and Invoicing approvals using tools including SAP and SAP Ariba.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of experience in job offered or 6 years of experience in the Related Occupation

- Provide cost forecasting reports to maintain the budget;
- Review proposals for benchmarking purposes;
- Review scopes of work to assess any redundancies in the design process and recommend ways to reduce costs;
- Provide cost plans and estimates for each construction phase and update accordingly at appropriate construction milestones;
- Review and verify contractor and subcontractor pricing, costs and proposals;
- Perform cost control, budgeting and change management services;
- Compile as-built estimate records for benchmarking purposes;
- Conduct background research and benchmarking against historical data;
- Identify outliers, trends and calculate key performance measures;
- Complete Take Off (Measurement of Quantities) reports.
- Assist managers with contract proposals and execution plans and present proposals to management for review.
- Collaborate and help resolve issues working with cross-functional teams to align processes and reconciled data.
- Implement value engineering practices and deliver the best cost solution to the client.
- Develop and/or review MEP cost estimates and claims.
