Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Job Specialty: Surgical Technology
Job Duration: 8 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
Experience: Prefer one year of experience in a hospital-based operating room or as a certified scrub tech for all specialties.
License: Licensed Practical Nurse licensed by the state (if applicable)
Certifications:
- Surgical Technologist Certification from a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists
- Certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization
- BCLS Certification required
Must-Have: Certification in Surgical Technology and Basic Cardiac Life Support
Job Description:
- Assist in providing nursing care and preparation for surgical patients of all ages
- Provide services under the general direction of the Director of Surgical Services or their designee
- Follow the objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department and established professional standards
- Function as a member of the sterile team
- Interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Maintain standards of professional care delivery in accordance with AORN, AAMI, and NBSTA
- Scrubbing duties include specialties such as orthopedic, urology, general, OB GYN, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, and endoscopy
- On call one night a week and one weekend a month with specified start and end times
