The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for fostering positive and productive relationships between employees and management within the organization. This role ensures the organization's workplace environment aligns with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, while also addressing employee concerns, managing conflict, and promoting employee engagement. The role involves providing guidance on all aspects of employee relations, including grievance handling, policy enforcement, dispute resolution, and compliance with government regulations related to employee welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Support and Grievance Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee grievances and concerns.
  • Investigate employee complaints related to workplace issues such as harassment, discrimination, and unfair treatment.
  • Provide timely, effective, and confidential resolutions to complaints in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Policy Development and Compliance:
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to develop, review, and implement policies that align with government health regulations and labor laws.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures related to employee relations are up-to-date, compliant with local, state, and federal laws, and consistent with the health organization's mission and values.

Conflict Resolution and Mediation:
  • Provide conflict resolution support to address employee disputes, including mediation between employees and management.
  • Facilitate informal and formal conflict resolution processes to resolve issues before they escalate to formal grievances or legal proceedings.

Employee Engagement and Communication:
  • Promote and support a positive organizational culture through employee engagement initiatives and communication strategies.
  • Conduct employee surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gather feedback on workplace satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Performance Management and Counseling:
  • Assist managers and supervisors in addressing performance issues and guide them in implementing corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to employees regarding performance, behavioral, and conduct issues.

Training and Development:
  • Develop and conduct training programs on topics such as conflict resolution, workplace behavior, employee rights, and company policies.
  • Ensure that employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities within the organization.

Workplace Safety and Well-being:
  • Oversee employee health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations specific to the healthcare setting.
  • Advocate for employee well-being and promote wellness initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of employee relations matters, including grievances, resolutions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Prepare reports on employee relations trends, issues, and resolutions for senior management and HR leadership.

Legal Compliance:
  • Stay current with relevant labor laws, government regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure the organization remains compliant with all applicable legal requirements in areas such as employee rights, wage and hour laws, and anti-discrimination policies.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in employee relations, HR, or a similar role, preferably in a government or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, government regulations, and employee relations best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.


Compensation: $45 to $57 an hour
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
