The Senior Program Coordinator, Clinical Curriculum is responsible for enhancing and streamlining processes for clerkship coordinators, ensuring the smooth operation of clinical education programs, and providing high-level support for troubleshooting student issues at clinical sites. This role serves as a liaison between various stakeholders, including students, faculty, and clinical site personnel, to uphold the integrity and quality of the clinical curriculum.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assess and improve workflows and processes for clerkship coordinators to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and guidelines for clinical education processes.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new tools, technologies, or practices to support program delivery.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Clerkships to ensure alignment between curriculum scheduling and site availability; Partner with the Director, Clinical Curriculum, to identify areas for curriculum enhancement and maintain educational quality standards.
  • Assist in strategic planning and initiatives related to clinical education programs.
  • Coordinate with faculty to facilitate required clinical curriculum for third and fourth year medical students.
  • Manage operational support for Clerkship Directors, Site Directors, and Site Coordinators.
  • Responsible for managing curriculum in on-line curriculum management system.
  • Understand and apply LCME Accreditation requirements for curriculum advising of students on required clinical encounters and duty hours, annual site visits, and site director meetings.
  • Coordinate with faculty to facilitate new curriculum initiatives.
  • Manage course schedule with external stakeholders.
  • Provide on-boarding and ongoing training for clerkship coordinators to ensure understanding of processes and responsibilities.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for clerkship coordinators, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Oversee the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to clinical site utilization, student performance, and program outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership to support decision-making and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of clinical education experiences and work with stakeholders to address gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to conduct regular evaluations of clerkship processes and implement changes as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Effective verbal and written communication, excellent grammar, composition, and proofreading skills.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical education programs and accreditation requirements.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in data management systems and educational technologies.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a commitment to student success.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.


Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in academic or clinical program coordination, with a focus on process improvement and student support.
Previous experience in a student services, academic services environment, clinical setting, or medical office.
Previous experience working in a team-based environment.
