A Brief Overview
Reporting to the EVP Chief Human Resources Officer, the Vice President of Learning & Development is responsible for developing and implementing a holistic learning strategy that addresses current and future workforce needs, including identifying critical skills gaps across more than 50 office locations and various time zones. This role will leverage advanced learning theories and technology and designs and implements programs to support leadership development, enhance employee performance, professional growth, and engagement. This role develops and provides oversight of performance metrics to evaluate and improve all programs and processes that facilitate professional and technical development, as well as the long-term professional development and continuous learning throughout the organization. This position collaborates with stakeholders to meet business needs and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced, regulated environment.

What you will do
- Develops and implements a holistic learning strategy that addresses current and future workforce needs, including identifying critical skills gaps. Collaborates with stakeholders to define and align learning initiatives with talent development and business objectives.
- Conducts thorough needs assessments to understand employee/leadership development requirements across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams including HR, operations, and business leaders.
- Designs and develops innovative, multi-modal learning solutions utilizing a variety of modalities including online courses, in-person training, blended learning, and micro-learning experiences. Creates dynamic, interactive resources such as multimedia presentations, digital job aids, and real-time performance tools to align with organizational goals and enhance employee performance.
- Implements engaging, comprehensive programs, curricula and immersive learning experiences, including individual contributor, manager and leadership development programs. Ensures that these initiatives align with organizational goals and are effectively integrated into the overall talent development strategy.
- Oversees the development and execution of leadership development programs, including succession planning initiatives, to cultivate high-potential talent within the organization.
- Designs and implements training plans and programs for updated and new technology implementations across the organization.
- Fosters a culture of continuous learning by promoting employee self-directed learning, knowledge sharing, and internal mentorship programs.
- Collaborates with regional HR leaders and business units to ensure consistent delivery and implementation of learning programs. Responsible for driving accountability to ensure all employees complete required training on an annual basis and/or to support learning for strategic initiatives.
- Develops and mentors the Learning & Development team, with a focus on cultivating strong collaboration and teamwork.
- Establishes metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback, performance metrics and data analytics. Tracks learner progress and makes data-driven improvements to training initiatives. Analyzes data to identify trends, measure ROI, and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve learning initiatives. Reports on learning outcomes and progress to senior leadership.
- Stays abreast of emerging learning technologies, industry best practices, and market trends to continuously evolve the company's learning strategy. Ensures all learning programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Creates and manages the Learning & Development budget ensuring efficient allocation of resources across different training programs.
- Evaluates and implements learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies to facilitate effective delivery and tracking of training programs.
- Supports company growth during acquisitions by completing due diligence, developing the learning and development plan and timeline and ensuring successful implementation.
- Monitors adherence with implemented company policies and procedures providing solutions to areas of concern.
- Builds relationships with external partners, including training vendors and consultants, to enhance program offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree n Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources or a related field Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 10+ years 10-15 years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on corporate and enterprise learning and talent development. Required
- Demonstrated ability to build and articulate a Learning & Development vision and translate it into an executable strategy, leading with data and insights. Required
- Experience working with and influencing leadership across the company. Required
- Experience with digital transformation and the integration of new learning technologies. Required
- Experience managing and leading a geographically dispersed team. Required
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning principles and talent management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership, influencing, collaboration, teamwork and relationship-building across the company.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and industry professionals.
- Excellent group facilitation and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates innovative and creative thinking, incorporating new techniques, technologies and systems, seeks new ideas, open to new ways of thinking, and demonstrates agility and professional presence in unfamiliar situations.
- Must be able to adapt to changing business needs and be comfortable pivoting direction to focus efforts where there is greatest impact to ensure best results.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other learning technologies.
- Strong program management, project management, and facilitation skills that deliver impactful learning experiences.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to travel as needed.
