We're seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage our Kubernetes-based infrastructure using GitOps methodologies. This role centers on ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for developer productivity, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes expertise-ideally validated by certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer). You'll leverage tools like Flux, Kustomize, Prometheus, and Grafana to deliver a robust, observable, and automated environment that powers our critical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters using Sidero Omni, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement and manage GitOps workflows with Flux and Kustomize to streamline cluster and application configuration management.
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding systems using Prometheus and Grafana to ensure platform health and visibility.
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions to support seamless, automated deployments for development teams.
- Collaborate with developers to understand application requirements and provide tailored, containerized infrastructure solutions.
- Enforce Kubernetes security best practices to protect the platform and mitigate risks across all environments.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, performing root cause analysis to resolve problems and improve system resilience.
- Document infrastructure designs, processes, and configurations to foster team collaboration and operational clarity.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. The Company is not able to take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time for this position or commit to doing so in the future for individuals with current authorization to work via, for example, CPT or OPT, and would need sponsorship in the future.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred); equivalent experience accepted.
- Proven experience managing Kubernetes in production environments.
- Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKA or CKAD) strongly preferred, demonstrating advanced proficiency in cluster administration or application development.
- Hands-on expertise with GitOps tools, particularly Flux and Kustomize, for infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Strong skills in monitoring and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
- Solid grasp of networking, security, and automation principles in cloud and containerized ecosystems.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a knack for untangling complex technical challenges.
- Commitment to industry best practices and maintaining high-quality, up-to-date documentation.
- Self-driven team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-cluster or multi-cloud Kubernetes solutions, such as Sidero Omni.
- Expertise in securing Kubernetes environments and optimizing clusters for performance and efficiency.
- Background in supporting developer workflows through platform engineering principles.
