Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team working on a critical international mission system upgrade project. As a key contributor to this exciting initiative, you'll play a vital role in designing, analyzing, and testing cutting-edge systems that will shape the future of our customer's operations. With a diverse range of responsibilities, from developing technical solutions to collaborating with cross-functional teams, this position offers a unique opportunity for growth and development.

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expertise in one of the following areas, Flight management systems being a key area along with Inter-communication systems. Having experienece in Electronic Support Measures, Weapons management systems or Electro-optical/Infrared camera system is highly desirable.

The responsibilities and range of activities will vary, but in general will include:
  • Performing design, analysis and/or test activities in support of completing the project objectives
  • Documenting analysis, designs and tests (e.g., architecture diagrams, UML diagrams, tech notes, design documents, test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates
  • Writing formal test cases and execute them to collect formal test results
  • Preparing written test reports for submission to the end customer
  • Investigating system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses
  • Providing technical support during higher level integration and qualification testing
  • Providing technical inputs to, and reviewing technical outputs from our aircraft modification subcontractor
  • Interfacing with support departments e.g. Supply Chain, Component Engineering, Contracts;
  • Product and process improvements; identifying opportunities to improve products and services, and drive those changes
  • Making presentations of work at design reviews or other types of peer reviews
  • This position requires occasional travel


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or applicable scientific discipline is required
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Electronic Support Measures
    • Flight management systems
    • Inter-communication systems
    • Weapons management systems
    • Electro-optical/Infrared camera systems
  • Broad knowledge of the System development process and lifecycles.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Desire to participate in large scale military system design and development.
  • Exposure to requirement analysis, system design, integration, and test processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with any of the following tools are highly desirable:
    • Windchill PDMLink
    • Rational Team Concert (RTC)
    • Rational DOORS
    • Microsoft Visio
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
