Team Wendy is recognized as a world leader in head ballistic & Impact protection, delivering life critical solutions for Militaries and First Responders worldwide.
Team Wendy Ceradyne, a subsidiary of Avon Protection, is looking for a seasoned Technical Manager. This position will be responsible for managing the TWC R&D team, oversee the successful roll out of major projects, to include everything from planning and scheduling to coordinating different teams and ensuring everyone is aligned with the project's objectives, oversee quality control of the technical output, and guiding the team and the business towards implementing new technologies and improving existing ones.
This position will report to the VP Technology & Development and collaborate with the Production, and Program Management teams.
Essential duties and/or Functions: (Essential Functions/basic job duties that must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation)
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Setting goals, assign tasks and providing feedback for the R&D team
Determine and define projects scope and objectives in conjunction with the Program Management team
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs in order to meet budget
Work with Program Management to develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
Report and escalate to management as needed
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Use and continually develop leadership skills
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications: (Minimum/Basic level of qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the position, i.e. education,
licensure or any measurable and job-related experience)
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field
Minumum of 5 years of Engineering management or related experience
Solid grasp of the latest technologies, trends and tools in the industry
Proven skills in project management including planning, execution, monitoring and closing projects as well as familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent analytical skills and ability to solve problems creatively
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences: (Characteristics/Skills/Experiences that are not required but are preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or certification in Business Administration or Project Management
Direct experience with custom plastic manufacturing processes
Solidworks experience
Internal Relationships:
TWC and TW Leadership, Engineering, Production, BD/Sales, and Legal
External Relationships:
Vendors & Customers
